The Library E.M.D.P. – Endangered Music and Dance Project

The Library E.M.P.D. (Endangered Music and Dance Project) is a performance that memorializes and transmits dance and musical forms that are on the verge of extinction. A group of people traveled to the Brazilian Northeast to record traditional songs and dances, and their findings were subsequently studied, catalogued, and stored in a library in ruins…

Each character is an archive of this tradition. From amidst this confused organization, the dances and songs appear and disappear in their splendor and decay, far from their roots and at time’s mercy.
