Inspired by the Gospel according to St. Matthew, Paixão looks at human conflict caused by extreme beliefs or desires for absolute surpassing, both small-scale – a couple tearing each other apart – and large-scale – nations killing one another. Evoking a Pasolinian universe, Paixão places powerful and explosive dance in a timeless baroque setting.
